This year, the library leaning commons and technology specialists of Burlington Public Schools have decided to combine our efforts into one blog to create and share ideas across the whole district. All future posts will be at our new blog at http://www.bpsedtech.org/ and bookmarks can be updated to follow there. All of my posts will have the hashtag #BPSFoxHill so you’ll have the option to see what’s going on across the district, or you can see just what we’re doing at Fox Hill by selecting the hashtag. Thanks so much to the students and families who have followed this blog for the last six years. I’ll see you over at:

Green Screen Book Reports
As we approach the end of the school year, our 5th graders are wrapping up their final work as elementary students. This past week we worked on making some book reports come to life. Students used the library green screen to put themselves into the settings of their books, in this case, Bud, Not Buddy, by Christopher Paul Curtis.

Oh, the Places You’ll Go!
During this time of year, I always share the Dr. Seuss classic, Oh, the Places You’ll Go, with the students of Fox Hill as they embark on summer of new adventures! A fantastic book for kids and adults of all ages, Oh, the Places You’ll Go, tells us there is a whole world of wonder out there and there are always opportunities to explore, learn, and be amazed, and also how we can also forge ahead when nothing seems to go our way. I wish all of our students and their families a fun, safe, exciting, happy summer full of wonder, growth, learning, and adventure!
DID YOU KNOW? Oh, the Places You’ll Go was the last book Dr. Seuss published in his lifetime?
3rd Grade Revolutionary War
This week in third grade we’re studying the American Revolution. With the use of our green screen, we’re able to step back in time and meet our founding fathers and mothers face to face, and to gain a deeper understanding of the material we’re covering.
