Setting up Destiny Quest on an iPad, iPhone, or other mobile device.

At Fox Hill we have Destiny Quest on our iPads. This is a great way to utilize our library catalog, find information, and access our e-books. Here are instructions on setting up Destiny Quest on an iPad, iPhone, or other mobile device.

Download the app from the iTunes store or other app store. It’s FREE!

The first time you launch the app, you will get a screen to enter a url to connect to your library.

urlentered

The url to enter is: bpsk12.follettdestiny.com

You do not need to type http or www.

selectschool

After entering the url, you will see the list of Burlington Public Schools. Choose Fox Hill.

This is what the log in screen looks like when you open the app. Enter your user name and password here.

After putting in your password, the app will open with a screen that shows the top then books in the library. If you even need a suggestion for something to read, this is a great place to look to see what our most popular books are.

On the left menu bar you can also see what books are new in the library. Notice the green and red buttons. These will show you what books are checked in or out.

You can touch on a book to see a description of the book. From here you have the option to add the book to your list. This is a great way to keep track of books that you’ve read and books that you want to read.

The Destiny Quest app is on all the iPads at school. Because we share these iPads, it’s very important that you log out when you’re done. You can log out by first going to your account. After which click on the red button in the top corner that says log out.

Responses

  1. having an issue connecting for first time -receiving an error “a server with the specified hostname could not be found”

  2. We seem to be having a problem across the district when connecting from home, or anywhere that we’re not on the Burlington network. This is something that’s only happened recently and it’s being working on and the company that runs the Destiny software has been contacted and is aware of the issue. Hopefully it will be resolved soon.
