Fox Hill Elementary Library Media Specialist
Hello and welcome! I’m Mr. Murphy and I am the Library Media Specialist here at Fox Hill Elementary. I’d like to tell you a little more about myself. I’ve loved libraries, books, reading, and technology for as long as I can remember and I couldn’t be more excited to be a part of the Fox Hill Community. Way back when I was a teenager, I worked at Memorial Hall Library in Andover, MA putting books away and doing some book repair and audio visual maintenance. When high school ended, I began attending U Mass, Lowell. During this time I also moved up at Memorial Hall from putting books away to being one of the four original staff members for the library’s brand new Teen Room. Following my graduation from U Mass Lowell with an English Literature degree, I taught high school English full time for two years. Following my second full year teaching, I began taking graduate classes at Simmons. While attending Simmons, I worked as a teacher’s assistant in kindergarten at the Higginson-Lewis School in Boston. I graduated from Simmons with a Master’s Degree in School Library Media. I couldn’t be happier or more excited about joining the Fox Hill Community and Burlington Public’s Ed Tech Team!
Outside of school I also keep busy by reading books, running races, playing guitar, painting pictures, and working towards my goal of visiting every place on Earth!
